QUARTER LIFE CRISIS

It’s my birthday! I’m 25 today, hence the quarter life crisis.

I’m going to be completely transparent with you, I’m having a hard time. It’s been a hard two weeks leading up to today. I’m feeling burnt out. I’ve been comparing myself to anyone and everyone.

**Raise your hand if you’ve been personally victimized by limiting beliefs 🙆🏽‍♀️**

I’ve had some deep conversations lately, and something that I came to realize is my cup is empty. My cup has been empty for a while. Have you heard that saying?

You can’t pour from an empty cup

Fill up your cup with self care, inspiration, things that light you up, etc… then fill other cups up from your cup right? WRONG.

I always assumed that was how the saying goes, that I should live life like…

  1. Fill my cup
  2. Turn off the tap
  3. Fill other cups
  4. Get burnt out
  5. Rinse and repeat

When I tell you that I was today years old when I realized that you shouldn’t let your cup go empty. You shouldn’t repeat this cycle of burnout → highs → burnout. You shouldn’t stop the tap and fill other cups from your cup. You should fill other cups with the OVERFLOW of your cup. Keep that tap running baby!

Literally so simple. My mind was BLOWN. 🤯

No wonder I am feeling burnt out so often. I don’t let myself recharge until I am on empty. Wow Carly, we get it! Stop with the metaphors. #sorrynotsorry.

You can’t pour from an empty cup.
You can’t swing from a fallen tree.
You can’t support others from a place of burnout.

I am going into the next 25 years of life, prioritizing myself and keeping my damn cup full.
